Question

Count how many times a pattern occurs in a text when overlapping occurrences count separately. The pattern is non-empty; either string may otherwise be anything. For example, 'aa' occurs 4 times in 'aaaaa' (starting at indexes 0, 1, 2, and 3), and 'aba' occurs 3 times in 'abababa'.

Implement
count_overlapping(text: str, pattern: str) → int
Examples
in["aaaaa","aa"]out4

State your approach and its time/space complexity out loud before you optimize. Handle the edge cases (empty input, duplicates, overflow), and say why you chose this over the brute force. Green tests are the floor, not the grade.

Vibe coding: describe the solution in plain language (or narrate it) and the coach grades your approach. Generating runnable code from your description is coming next.

Run or narrate your approach, then ask the coach.
