Longest arithmetic progression subsequence

CodingAlgorithms & data structuresMid–Senior~30 min

Given an integer array nums, return the length of the longest subsequence whose consecutive elements form an arithmetic progression (constant difference). A single element counts as length 1. 1 <= len(nums) <= 1000, -10^4 <= nums[i] <= 10^4.

What a strong answer looks like

State your approach and its time/space complexity out loud before you optimize. Handle the edge cases (empty input, duplicates, overflow), and say why you chose this over the brute force. Green tests are the floor, not the grade.
