Repeated substring pattern

CodingAlgorithms & data structuresMid–Senior~20 min

Given a non-empty string s of lowercase letters (1 <= len(s) <= 10^4), return True if s can be constructed by taking some proper substring of it and concatenating two or more copies of that substring; otherwise return False.

Implement
repeated_substring_pattern(s: str) → bool

in["abab"]outtrue
What a strong answer looks like

State your approach and its time/space complexity out loud before you optimize. Handle the edge cases (empty input, duplicates, overflow), and say why you chose this over the brute force. Green tests are the floor, not the grade.
