The short version of how Prep Room works. Still stuck? Contact us.
An AI interview coach. You practise out loud (or by typing) and get calm, structured critique — plus tools for the rest of the job search: resume customization, salary-negotiation rehearsal, a profile builder, and upskilling suggestions. A calmer way to rehearse the conversations you have when a job is on the line.
Prep Room is open to everyone — create your account with Continue with LinkedIn or Continue with Google, or upload your resume to get started. There’s no password to manage: when you come back, sign in the same way, or with a one-time email link.
Prep Room runs in the browser on desktop and mobile. Voice practice works in Chrome and Edge, in Safari on a Mac, and in Chrome on Android. On iPhone and iPad, Apple limits voice in the browser, so you’ll type your answers there instead — you can still hear questions read aloud. Typing works everywhere, on every browser, as a full fallback. A few tools — coding, system design, the resume rewrite editor, and the website builder — need the room of a desktop or tablet.
Questions span seven categories: behavioral, culture fit, situational, domain, AI-readiness, coding, and system design. The set you see is tuned to the target role, level, and company you set up.
A Drill is focused practice on a single category. A Mockis a full set of questions across categories, like a real round. An Interview loopsimulates a company onsite — multiple back-to-back rounds with distinct interviewers and an end-of-loop review (available on the paid tiers).
Either. Speaking out loud is the point — it’s how you rehearse for the real thing — but typing works everywhere and gets the same critique. Voice needs you to grant microphone permission the first time.
After each answer, a focused coach note: what landed, what to tighten, and specific things to try next (including a nudge on filler words). You also get a model answer to compare against, and a session summary at the end. The critique rewards clear structure and concrete, measurable results — not buzzwords. No streaks, no leaderboards, no gamification.
No — questions come from a curated bank with cooldowns that keep recent ones from repeating, and they’re selected to match what you’re preparing for.
You compare your resume against a specific job description. Prep Room shows what matches, what’s missing, and which keywords the ATS will look for, then suggests targeted bullet rewrites. It’s about aligning yourstory to the role — deliberately not a mass-apply tool.
Enter your offer details and it surfaces the market band and blind spots, builds a priority-ranked strategy with tailored email drafts, and lets you rehearse your pushback live. It’s a Pro feature.
Generate human-centered bios for LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and academic profiles; turn your LinkedIn into a clean resume; and build and download a clean, unbranded personal website.
It turns your resume into copy-paste-ready LinkedIn sections — a sharper headline, a rewritten About, achievement-led experience, and skills — tuned to what you want your profile to do (land a job, attract recruiters, grow your reach, and more). Each section has a one-tap copy button, and you get a few content and visual ideas to gain traction. It’s a Pro feature with a monthly allowance.
By mapping your profile against a target job description, Prep Room highlights your highest-impact skill gaps and gives you one-click pathways to relevant courses on Coursera and Udemy.
Free lets you try the core practice with curated practice questions and a small monthly allowance. Standard adds profile- and JD-tailored questions and higher limits. Prounlocks everything — company interview loops, resume rewrite, and salary-negotiation practice — with the highest limits. See the pricing page for current pricing and monthly caps.

A resume fileyou upload is read in memory to pull out its text and isn’t stored unless you explicitly opt in; if you do, it’s kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. Resume or job-description text you paste is stored so the tools can use it, and you can delete it from your Account page anytime.
No. Your content is processed by our model provider under agreement with no training by default, and it is never shared with employers or other users.
Yes. “Delete account” on your Account page erases your account and everything tied to it — practice history, profile, and any stored resume. Full details are on the Legal page.
Yes, to make questions and critique more relevant. You can turn this off with the “Tailor questions to my profile” toggle on Account — when it’s off, your profile isn’t attached to any AI call.
No platform can guarantee employment or a particular offer, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What Prep Room does is maximize your readiness — so you walk in calm, specific, and able to advocate for yourself.
